For a sophisticated young client in Silverlake, SSP was originally invited to consult on the design of a single fireplace in an existing two-story 1938 hillside home. In fact, that initial design thinking set the tone for a larger, much more extensive project to reimagine a sleepy traditional cottage into a truly remarkable home driven equally by crisp modern and historic details.

 

A fully interior project, our work includes new trims and mouldings, wall coverings, plumbing, lighting, countertops, and a suite of custom fittings: millwork, stonework, brass shelving, and upholstery. The result is a dramatic hideaway befitting its views of the observatory and the city beyond.
