Project Architect

Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Architect to lead the architectural direction of our residential and commercial projects, with demonstrated experience working across all phases from concept to completion. This role is ideal for someone with a strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit. As a leading member of the team, you will work across multiple projects within the studio, mentor junior designers, and contribute to our multidisciplinary studio’s culture of curiosity and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of architectural projects from conception through construction.

  • Oversee the development and production of drawing sets, including management of graphic standards, technical detail library, and comprehensive documentation of the studio’s design work.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, consultants, and clients to deliver cohesive, thoughtful work.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining design integrity.

  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in practice, with experience or demonstrated interest in residential design.

  • Master of Architecture (M.Arch) preferred, B.Arch degree required.

  • Licensed Architect or actively working towards licensure.

  • Highly developed skills in managing client communication, project scheduling, consultant coordination, and construction administration.

  • Demonstrated experience and success with managing project permitting, HPOZ approvals, and HOA approvals at the city, regional, and/or county level.

  • Advanced knowledge of technical detailing and construction processes.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with acute attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to adapt to change within an evolving and growing environment.

  • Familiarity with Los Angeles architecture and design industry, with knowledge of California zoning and coding regulations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of software including but not limited to: Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Suite, and Bluebeam.
